Representatives from international and academic publishing houses will be invited to the event together with academics with experience of publishing in Germany and internationally. Early career researchers will thus gain insights into the multiple stages involved in producing a successful publication record – from what makes a successful book proposal, through positioning research within academic disciplines and passing peer review, to finding a publisher and dealing with editors. The round table is thus relevant to those seeking to produce a monograph, work as editors or contributors to edited volumes, or submit articles to leading peer-reviewed journals. It will also be fruitful for those thinking of a career outside academia in the world of publishing. The goal is to provide a broad spectrum of wisdom about the publishing world to help our target population achieve their publishing and career goals.
