Full texts of Elsevier journals

At Justus Liebig University - as at around 200 renowned German academic institutions - current full texts of Elsevier journals are no longer available. The background is the termination of the licence agreement between the HeBIS network (Hessian Library Information System) and the Elsevier publishing house for more than 2,300 electronic journals at the end of 2017 by the presidiums of the Hessian universities. The reason for the termination is the stalled contract negotiations with Elsevier within the framework of the DEAL project on nationwide licensing of journals for all academic institutions.

Access to the Giessen archive volumes is generally guaranteed. Furthermore, the journal backfiles from Elsevier (1907 to 2002) acquired as a national licence from the DFG can still be accessed. The corresponding journal volumes can be searched via JustFind.

For current articles that are no longer accessible due to cancellation, a free order service is available via the University Library.
