Beyond the Chatbot: Co-Creating Learning Environments with Augmented Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools are already widely used in teaching, both by students and by teachers. The key question, however, is this: how can AI be integrated meaningfully into teaching? Not as one more tool among many, but as a „third actor" alongside teachers and students.

The workshop „Beyond the Chatbot: Co-Creating Learning Environments with Augmented Intelligence" aims to bring together different perspectives on exactly this question. Together with our guest Dr. Julie Lindsay from the University of Southern Queensland in Australia, we will look at how AI systems are changing the design of learning processes and how we should rethink assessment in response.

The event is aimed at experienced teachers who have already worked with AI in their own teaching. Basic knowledge is therefore explicitly assumed. Over the course of the workshop, we want to discuss and develop new teaching concepts together. Good English skills are required, as the workshop will be held in English.

Alongside a framing input session, the focus of the workshop will be on moderated discussion groups. There, together with other participants, you will develop and discuss teaching and assessment concepts in the context of AI. You are expressly invited to bring your own questions, experiences and existing concepts from your teaching and to contribute them to this shared work.

Speaker: Dr. Julie Lindsay (University of Southern Queensland), Dr. Sebastian Busse (JLU), Dr. Joss von Hadeln (JLU)
