  • Context

Chronic and acute food insecurity has been a major issue in developing countries, including Afghanistan. Data reveal that the level and intensity of food insecurity is on the rise in the country, particularly after August 2021. Such a situation will have negative short-, medium-, and long-run ramifications for the country. To inform the international community on addressing the issue of food insecurity, this project examines the consumption patterns of households, extent of food insecurity, coping strategies, and determinants of food insecurity in rural and urban regions of Afghanistan.
