Romanikforschungspreis 2023 // Deadline 15.07.

Das Europäische Romanik Zentrum verleiht zum 12. Mal seinen internationalen Nachwuchspreis für herausragende Dissertationen auf dem Gebiet der Romanik. Der Preis wird gefördert durch die Stiftung der Saalesparkasse (Halle).

Ziel der Vergabe ist die Nachwuchsförderung durch Auszeichnung von Wissenschaftlern und Wissenschaftlerinnen, die auf dem Gebiet des frühen und hohen Mittelalters (Kunstgeschichte, Archäologie, Geschichte, Kirchen-, Liturgie- oder Rechtsgeschichte, Literaturwissenschaft, Theologie etc.) herausragende Forschungsleistungen erbracht haben.

Ausgezeichnet werden unveröffentlichte Forschungsarbeiten (Dissertationen). Der Preis wird an Graduierte vergeben und besteht aus einem Preisgeld in Höhe von 2.000 EUR. Über die Vergabe entscheidet eine international besetzte Jury, bestehend aus Mitgliedern des internationalen Beirats und des Vorstands des Europäischen Romanik Zentrums. Die Annahme des Romanikforschungspreises ist verbunden mit einem öffentlichen Vortrag des Preisträgers/der Preisträgerin im Europäischen Romanik Zentrum.

Bewerbungen (Lebenslauf, Zeugnisse, Publikationsliste) und ein Exemplar der Forschungsarbeit (incl. Abstract, Gutachten) in digitalisierter Form (PDF) werden bis 15. Juli 2023 erbeten an:

The European Center of the Romanesque (Europäisches Romanik Zentrum, ERZ) awards outstanding international research on the field of the Romanesque period. The award is donated by the Stiftung Saalesparkasse (Halle).

The award aims to promote, honour and encourage graduated junior researchers contributing to the study of art and architectural history, archaeology, history, history of theology and liturgy, history of literature or the law of the early and high Middle Ages.

Only unpublished research works will be considered (PhD thesis). The award is supposed to promote graduates. It is valued at 2000 EUR. The ERZ’s international board of advisors will co-judge to the selection of the awardee. Accepting the award, the winner is encouraged to give a public lecture at the ERZ.

Until July 15, 2023, the application (CV, certificates, references, list of publications), a digital copy of the PhD thesis (PDF) including an abstract and the academic evaluation is to be send to:
