Setting up eduroam Windows

Requirements

  • You need a working Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.
  • You have the login details for your account.
  • Windows should be up to date (all updates should be installed).
  • The latest drivers for the WLAN adapter should be installed, which is usually the case.

Setting up the eduroam connection

  1. In the settings, search for the Wi-Fi network named eduroam and click on it.
  2. Enter the user name (J-ID, G-ID, S-ID) and password.
    • username@uni-giessen.de
    • Important:
      • In order to be able to connect to other locations that offer eduroam using the established connection (eduroam profile), the suffix
               @uni-giessen.de
        must be specified when setting up eduroam.
      • Please ensure that no spaces are added to the information!

  3. Click Connect in the lower right corner to complete the installation.
