This section is focused on questions of mediality and the mediatisation of cultural processes impacting the areas of literature, language, and history, as wells as on aspects of their didactic communication. At the centre of its interdisciplinary research are theoretical and empirical studies on contemporary German literature, the analysis of film and television, forms of literary and media production of memory, digital forms of communication and interaction on the web, and the processes of media-specific texts and writing. These activities are closely related to the concepts of acquiring and developing media competence in different learning environments, and are based on a broad range of methods that include process and product analytical procedures, both referring to traditional and new media.
