Shanghai Theatre Academy

The Shanghai Theatre Academy (STA) was founded in 1945 as a university for performing arts with a specific focus on theatre education and theatre studies. The STA is one of the best art institutions for university education in China. With six decades of educational experience, the academic maintains an artistic atmosphere and has developed exclusive cultural surroundings. The STA hosts 2000 students, 500 Master and PhD students as well as 1000 students at the pre-college schools. Since 2010, the ZMI and the STA have collaborated in diverse ways. Together, the foundation of a Confucius Institute is planned.
