University of Tokyo
The University of Tokyo (Tōdai), founded by the state in 1877, is the most prestigious university in Japan and is one of the highest ranking universities in all of Asia. The Tōdai offers students and researchers a wide spectrum of academic disciplines. At 10 departments, 56 Japan-based facilities, and 41 foreign facilities, the possibility exists to gain national and international education and experience.
The cooperation agreement between the University of Tokyo and the JLU was signed in July 2015. The cooperation is between of the Center for German and European Studies (DESK), the Tōdai with the ZMI, and the Institute for Political Science in Giessen.
