Since 2016 we have been offering free of charge German courses for refugees interested in studying. As part of the courses, we provide information about the range of courses offered at JLU Gießen and support you in successfully applying to study. The special feature of our courses is that there is a particular focus on preparing students for their studies.
With us, refugees interested in studying have the opportunity to attend German courses at levels A1 to B1+.
The A1.1 course is aimed at interested persons with no knowledge of German. For the courses from A1.2 to B1, you need a valid German course certificate (not older than two years) or we will send you a placement test by email to determine the appropriate course level.
The B1+ course is aimed at interested persons who have already completed the B1 level (e.g. by attending an integration course at level B1) and are interested in deepening their B1 knowledge.These German courses are aimed at...
