In the case of successful completion of the six-year W1 position, which is to be assessed in an evaluation procedure pursuant to § 64 Para. 2 HHG, the appointment will be converted into a permanent W2 professorship. Proficient knowledge of German language is expected.
Research will be conducted in close cooperation with the interdisciplinary Center for Media and Interactivity (Zentrum für Medien und Interaktivität, ZMI) at JLU and its research focus "Literacy and Education in the Media Society". It is expected that the successful candidate will be actively involved in the ZMI. During the work at JLU, the future job holder is expected to have success in the independent acquisition of externally funded projects.
The professorship is expected to participate in teaching in all teacher training programmes of the faculty, with media-specific courses as well as in the continuing education and training programmes offered by the Centre for Teacher Education and the Centre for Foreign Language and Professional Competencies at JLU. Close collaboration with the ZMI is required.
The successful candidate should have excellent knowledge of media pedagogy, especially in the field of literacy and education, as well as relevant research experience in developing learning, education and training situations in a media-based knowledge and information society. Excellent knowledge and research experience in qualitative and/or hermeneutical research methods are required. A successfully completed degree in educational or social sciences or in a teaching degree programme and an outstanding doctorate are also required. Initial experience in the independent acquisition of external funds is desirable, as is an international orientation in research and a focus on media-related gender research.
The JLU aims to employ more women in academic research. We therefore particularly encourage female candidates to apply. JLU also pursues the goal at faculty leadership level of increased competence in dealing with gender and family-related issues. JLU is regarded as a family-friendly university. Applicants with children are very welcome. Applications from disabled people of equal aptitude will be given preference.
