Shuffling Cards
In many card games, such as poker, professional players calculate their odds. In doing so, they assume that every possible arrangement of the deck is equally likely. Why? Are they allowed to do that? Does shuffling the cards actually ensure that all arrangements are equally likely, and if so, how long should the cards be shuffled?
