Change of Password

Students with j-, so- or sq-identifier
 
After logging in, you can change your password yourself using the following link: https://iam.uni-giessen.de/sspr/private/changepassword.

Students WITHOUT j-, so- or sq-identifier,
employees with g-identifier or
Guests/externals with n-identifier
 
Log in at https://mia.hrz.uni-giessen.de/de/basic/login with your user ID and current LDAP/net password. After successful login you will be redirected to the "Dashboard". In the blue bar on the left side click on "Password". Then follow the instructions and reset your LDAP/network password.

Forgotten password

Provided you have already answered your security questions, you can reset your LDAP/network password via these. To reset your password using security questions, click the following link: https://iam.uni-giessen.de/sspr/public/forgottenpassword
 
If you have not yet answered your security questions or no longer know the answers, please proceed as in the following item.

Currently, there are two password reset options available:

 
1. Perform the password reset on-site at the HRZ. The password reset is possible from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 19:30 at the HRZ service desk.
 
2. You use the Video-Ident procedure. This requires a PC/notebook with webcam, microphone and good internet connection. Please only use the Video-Ident procedure if it is not possible for you to come to the HRZ in person. Reasons for this would be a very long journey, as well as health reasons. In order to participate in the Video-Ident procedure, you must complete the following online form: https://www.uni-giessen.de/jluoffline/kontakt/videoidentantrag/.
 
In both cases, you will need a valid official photo ID (ID card, passport, visa).
