Content of the course "Entrepreneurial Mindset in Different Contexts" (Lecture and Exercise)

In today’s changing world, an entrepreneurial mindset is essential to adapt and thrive in any career field, whether you start something new or work in an existing organization. This course is for students who want to be more entrepreneurial in their career, i.e. to follow a more entrepreneurial approach to work. In a nutshell, this is someone, that looks at a problem and comes up with a potential solution. Someone with an entrepreneurial mindset does not see issues, they see opportunities to solve. Employers love an entrepreneurial mindset! Hence, this course is relevant for anyone that aims to

  • running a business – acting strategically within an organization
  • starting a new business
  • addressing societal grand challenges
  • improving one’s personal life
  • dealing with any situation where you want to create something new, improve something existing, or solve a problem.

The module Entrepreneurial Mindset in Different Contexts aims to achieve several objectives. Firstly, it raises awareness of the importance of entrepreneurial thinking and action in various contexts. Secondly, it imparts specialized knowledge and methodological skills while promoting advanced discussions on the latest scientific research in the field of entrepreneurial thinking and action. Thirdly, it fosters social, networking, and personal competencies. Lastly, it encourages the independent execution of a practice-oriented project.

The module Entrepreneurial Mindset in Different Contexts seeks to enhance awareness of the significance of entrepreneurial thinking and action across diverse contexts. It provides in-depth knowledge and methodological skills, fostering advanced discussions on the latest scientific research in entrepreneurial thinking and action. Furthermore, the module aims to develop social, networking, and personal competencies. Students are getting supported in independently carrying out a practice-oriented project.

  • Basics of entrepreneurial thinking and action in different contexts
  • Entrepreneurial skills
  • Creativity theories and techniques
  • Pitching
  • Basics of understanding your own entrepreneurial thinking and action and decision-making within different entrepreneurial contexts
  • Focusing on specific questions within and along entrepreneurial thinking and action

  • Type of examination: final module examination
  • Examination form: 3 alternatives: (1) written examination or (2) written examination and written paper or (3) written examination and presentation with paper - The examination form will be announced by the lecturer(s) at the beginning of the course.
  • Duration of the 3 alternatives: (1) written examination: 90 minutes or (2) written examination: 60 minutes and written paper: approx. 1,000 words or (3) written examination: 60 minutes and presentation with paper: 5-10 minutes presentation and 5-10 slides
  • Calculation of the module grade for the three alternatives: (1) written examination: 100%, (2) written examination: 80% and position paper 20%, (3) written examination: 80% and presentation: 20%
  • Form of the repeat examination: written examination 60-90 minutes
