In welchem
Herstellung politischer Sicherheit.
Political Security and Financial Market Stability after the World Financial Crisis
Under the impact of the world financial crisis since 2007, financial market stability has emerged as an important element in claims to political security, in particular in the U.S. and the EU. To what degree and with what consequences have financial logics, rationalities and protagonists been implicated in this rearticulation of political security? The project investigates this question on three levels: political and economic discourses in the face of crisis events and attempts at regulation; the emergence of new crisis elites through the authorization of new regulatory bodies; the role of financial calculative routines, for instance risk calculation, in the articulation of political security.
