First Steps at JLU
Formalising your affiliation with JLU
✅ Find all information on this in your GCSC Onboarding Package (folders “2_Acceptance at JLU faculty” and “3_Enrolment at JLU”).
PPA / Libraries
- 🏛 Library resources: Find all information about JLU’s libraries on the English landing page of the University Library. The GCSC and IPP also have in-house libraries specialised in the Study of Culture where you can browse and borrow books for up to one month. Please contact the IPP team or GCSC Office Management to visit or borrow a book.
- 📖 Request a “PPA” library card: Your JLU student chip card works as a library card and can be used to borrow books, use printers, etc. If you wish, you can also request an alternative library card via the GCSC. Benefits of this “personenbezogener Professurausweis” (PPA) are longer loan periods (180 days vs 28 days on the chip card) and a budget of 50 € for inter-library loans. To request the PPA, please follow these instructions and date and sign this document (confirmation that the GCSC will not be liable if you lose a book).
