Björn Weeser manages the SDGnexus Network – a global community of universities, research centers, and stakeholders committed to promoting the Agenda 2030 for sustainable development. As part of the DAAD “Higher Education Excellence in Development Cooperation – exceed” program the SDGnexus Network aims to strengthen higher education to facilitate the development of effective and innovative contributions to achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the United Nations. With a background in environmental management and engineering, Björn Weeser conducts research related to tropical catchments with a focus on hydrogeochemical modeling combined with crowdsourced measurements, geospatial data analysis, and water resource monitoring. In 2021, he and Dr Suzanne Jacobs won the €50,000 Water Monitoring Prize 2020 of the Dr Erich Ritter Foundation and the Water Science Alliance. |
