Get That Job! Applying and Interviewing for Jobs in English

Considering career opportunities with internationally orientated firms? Then you may need to submit application materials and participate in interviews in English. This lecture focuses on distinctive aspects of applying for jobs in English-speaking countries or with any organization which follows Anglo-American hiring conventions. It provides training in navigating selected stages of that process, including creating your curriculum vitae and cover letter and presenting yourself convincingly in the interview. Differences between British and American practices are also addressed. The lecture will last about 90 minutes, and afterwards there will be time for a round of questions and answers. The lecture is held in English by a native speaker.

Andrew Cerniski has been training English-language job-application skills for over fifteen years. Since 2002 he has managed English, Inc., a Heidelberg-based provider of Business English training.
