Biography

Madita Oeming is an independent researcher, author, and sex educator specializing in digital sexuality. Over the past decade, she has been engaging with sexual media academically, journalistically, politically, and pedagogically. Oeming has taught various university classes and has given numerous national and international talks on pornography and its place in society. She is part of the SCMS Adult Film & Media Scholarly Interest Group, a member of the German Research Association for Sexuality Studies and currently in the process of building a research network for German-speaking porn studies. Oeming actively communicates her work to broader audiences, most notably in her pop-science book “Porno – Eine unverschämte Analyse” (Rowohlt 2023). Recently, she has focused on the area of sex education, offering workshops and advanced training for teachers and other professionals working with minors. She is part of the project “Teach Love”, initiated at the University of Flensburg. Her parents‘ guide on youth and sexual media use will be out in January 2026.
