Professor of Market Design
Prof. Dr. Marion Ott is deputy head of the research unit "Market Design" at ZEW – Leibniz Centre for European Economic Research and has held the Chair of Market Design at Justus Liebig University Giessen since 2025. She studied Industrial Engineering and Management at the University of Karlsruhe, now KIT, where she received her doctorate in 2009. After a six-month research stay at Stanford University in 2009/10, she moved to RWTH Aachen. Until early 2019, she was a junior professor of game theory and behavioural economics there and also took on a substitute professorship in empirical economic research. In 2013 she returned to Stanford University for a further four-month research visit. Her research interests include the design and analysis of all types of markets with a focus on auctions, which she examines using game theory and experimental methods.
