Vita

Jan Labitzke, born in 1980, studied political sciences, physics, and Italian at Justus Liebig University Giessen, in 2002/2003 he studied political sciences at Università degli Studi di Bologna, he received his Staatsexamen (state examination) in 2006, in 2007/2008 he studied European Studies at Tübingen University from which he received his Master in European Studies. Since 2008 research associate at the Institute of Political Science (University of Giessen), 2014 conferral of doctorate (topic of thesis: „Mehr partizipative Demokratie wagen? Zum Umgang der Europäischen Kommission mit Online-Konsultationen“ / ”Taking a Chance on more Participatory Democracy? On the Handling oft he European Commission with Online-Consultations“.)

Research Focus

European integration, comparison of federalism in Italy and Germany, governance in the German/Italian/European multi-level system, social and educational policy in Germany and Italy.
