Admission and application
Whether you want to study our B.A. program, the M.A. program, the double degree program or are an international student interested in our studies - on the following pages you can find all necessary information about the different admission criteria, language requirements and application processes. Application process
- There are no admission restrictions
- The enrolment period for the winter semester starts at the beginning of June.
- The deadline for the enrolment period changes from year to year. Please check the application portal for further information.

Admission requirements
- Relevant bachelor’s degree (or an academic degree that is considered equivalent) with a minimum of 40 CP in the chosen major subject.
- In individual cases, the examination board can decide on the equivalence of an academic degree and can grant permission with additional stipulations.
Language requirements
- Some major subjects require language certificates provided upon application. Please read the relevant information on language certificates and direct follow-up questions at ZSB@uni-giessen.de .

The double degree program is an option for master's students. Students interested in this program need to apply for the double degree additionally to their regular application for the ICB M.A.
