Congratulations to Dr. Melanie Kreitler
The English Department also wishes to congratulate Dr. Melanie Kreitler. In the 2024 call of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action for Postdoctoral Fellowships of the European Union, Melanie Kreitler’s project “Rethinking Failed Empathy in Narrative Fiction” (REFEMP) was selected for funding. In collaboration with Ghent University, Belgium, the project challenges the assumption that narrative fiction is valuable because it creates understanding of other people's experiences and lived realities through empathy.
