Information on Awards from the Developmental Psychology Section

The section is once again awarding the Margret and Paul Baltes Prize for outstanding dissertations, as well as the Mentoring Award this year. Both awards will be presented during the conference on September 1, 2025.

 

Margret and Paul Baltes Prize for Outstanding Dissertations

The Developmental Psychology Section is once again awarding the prize for outstanding dissertations this year. This prize is awarded on behalf of the Margret M. and Paul B. Baltes Foundation and comes with a monetary award of EUR 1,000.

The following selection criteria apply:

The dissertation worthy of distinction should not be older than three years, demonstrate a high scientific standard, be original in subject and method, and hold particular significance for developmental psychology, which may relate to practical relevance, innovation potential, or theoretical advancements.

The selection committee consists of the speaker group. Please submit your nominations along with the corresponding dissertation, reviews, and publications by April 1, 2025, to the speaker of the section (fgew-sprecher@dgps.de; Subject: Baltes Prize). Self-nominations are possible.

Developmental Psychology Section Mentoring Award 2025

With the Mentoring Award, the section honors a member who has made an outstanding long-term contribution to supporting early-career researchers in our field. The prize is endowed with EUR 1,000.

Please submit your nominations along with the corresponding letters of recommendation by April 1, 2025, to the speaker of the section (fgew-sprecher@dgps.de; Subject: Mentoring Award)!
