Bachelor's or master's theses at the Institute of Soil Science and Soil Conservation

We regularly supervise students who write their bachelor's and master's theses with us. There are various topics to choose from, covering current fields of research and practice.

Do you have your own ideas for a thesis or relate to any possible topics? Then please get in touch with us! If you are interested in writing your thesis at the Institute of Soil Science and Soil Conservation, we look forward to hearing from you.

Possible topics:

  • Carbon and nutrient cycles in soils and agroecosystems
  • Behavior of pollutants (especially pharmaceuticals) in soils and agroecosystems
  • Influence of soil properties, soil development, and soil management on soil functions
    Contact: Jan Siemens, jan.siemens

  • Distribution, enrichment, and effects of pollutants in environmental media
  • Further development of microextraction techniques (MAE, SPME, TFME) in organic and inorganic residue analysis
    Contact: Rolf Düring, rolf-alexander.duering

  • Function and fate of organic matter in soils
  • Significance of natural nanoparticles and colloids in ecosystems
    Contact: Alexander Konrad, alexander.konrad

  • Food forest and forest garden
  • Nutrient cycles in soils of agroforestry systems
