Undergraduate Education

The Justus Liebig University is one of five institutions in Germany providing undergraduate veterinary education

Within the framework of this curriculum, students in veterinary medicine acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge covering various species, as well as practical skills required to practice as veterinarians. The Chair of Ruminant Diseases and Herd Health Management covers all aspects of ruminant medicine and surgery in large and small ruminants, including herd health  management  of cattle herds. 

Students of the Justus-Liebig-University have access to  all necessary information about dates, meeting points and required materials via the university-internal portal StudIP. During our clinical rotation, students in their last year of study spend two weeks on clinics, participating in clinical work in-house and in the field.

For national and international students with a deeper interest in ruminant medicine ad surgery we offer extramural internship at the clinic of two to ten weeks duration. More information can be found in the section "Internship for students".
