Taiwan

Pregnant dogs or cats are not allowed to be imported to Taiwan if pregnancy lasts for more than 4 weeks. The animals have to be labelled with a microchip and vaccinated against rabies. In the case of a primary vaccination the animal must be at least 90 days old. The period between the day of vaccination and the day of shipment has to be no less than 180 days and no more than one year. In the case of a booster vaccination, the animal had to be vaccinated not more than one year prior to shipment.

The blood sampling for determination of the rabies antibody titre has to take place at least 180 days and at most 2 years before export. The neutralizing antibody titre must be 0.5 IU/ml or higher.

At least 30 days before shipment the importer has to apply for an import license and book a place in an accredited isolation ward. If all requirements for entry are fulfilled, the quarantine takes up to 21 days.
