Researching - from the Beginning on

In the Advanced Materials programme, independent research starts early on: even during your Bachelor’s thesis, you will be involved in real-world projects and put your own ideas into practice. During your Master’s degree, you will deepen this experience and learn to develop and achieve your own research goals.

Your thesis projects are closely linked to current research groups – this allows you to gain practical experience in modern laboratories and learn to tackle scientific questions independently.

After completing your degree, many career paths are open to you, e.g.:

  • a PhD in materials science,
  • a direct entry into industry,
  • or involvement in research projects on topics such as energy or medical technology, nanostructures, functional coatings or materials recycling.

You might even discover a whole new field of research – because in materials science, creativity and curiosity are the keys to genuine innovation.
