Goals of the Career Services department
The overall goal of Career Services is to support students in actively shaping their career paths in a self-determined manner based on their own values and goals. Evidence-based offers are designed to prepare you in the best possible way for the opportunities and challenges of the ever-changing job market.
Our approach is based on the successive development of "employability" - a combination of four personal development fields that have been proven to promote self-determined and sustainable career development. These four development fields include your career identity, your career adaptability, your human capital and your social capital.
For this purpose, we offer comprehensive seminar and information events for students of all faculties. We also work closely with various cooperation partners, such as the university team at Federal Employment Agency Giessen (Agentur für Arbeit Gießen).
We support you in gaining practical experience, establishing contacts with employers and learning application strategies and techniques. Additionally, we offer a variety of workshops. As well, an individual counseling service is offered in cooperation with the university team of the Federal Employment Agency Giessen. On top of that, we offer various services for companies, such as the Career Services job portal and company presentations.
For international students we have special offers for career preparation in Germany.
