DigiKomp+ is your guide through the digital world. Whether you are just starting your digital journey or already have experience, DigiKomp+ helps you elevate your skills to the next level. The pace? That’s up to you! Adjust the offerings of DigiKomp+ to your rhythm and choose modules that match your needs and wishes.

In our Fundamentals Section , you learn everything you need to know about digital competencies. Here it’s more than just theory: you become part of a team, create real projects, and document your progress in a personal portfolio. In the Applied and Advanced Courses , you can center on courses based on your interests. You choose which courses interest you—there are no limits for you. On our website you’ll find courses on various topics that can enrich your supplementary certificate. Finally, you reflect on your individual journey through the supplementary certificate in a Portfolio and a conversation.

Why do the Supplementary Certificate?

Sharpen your profile: With the Supplementary Certificate DigitalCompetencePlus you put a clear accent on a skill set that counts in every résumé today—whether you’re aiming for a job in a company, self employment, or a career in research.
Show what you can do: You receive a certificate that precisely tells potential employers what you have learned, which goals you’ve achieved, and how extensive your courses were. After completing the foundation section you also earn a project report that can be added to your résumé—an actual added value that sets you apart.
Work on it whenever you wish: You have as much time as you need for the Zusatzzeugnis—you’re not bound to finish within a fixed period. The only requirement is that you are enrolled at the JLU. Likewise, you can take the course as short or long as the offered courses allow.

You recognize the opportunities and challenges of digital technology and can ensure data privacy and security when using it.
You use digital tools not only efficiently but also creatively and can actively participate in a digital society.

: An overview of the Supplementary Certificate DigitalCompetencePlus

The Supplementary Certificate DigitalCompetencePlus (or DigiKomp+ ) gives you 6 Credit Points (CP), which corresponds to an effort of about 180 hours.

Contents of the Supplementary Certificate

Fundamentals section [Mandatory]: The Fundamentals Section with 3 CP is mandatory for the Supplementary Certificate and must be completed at the Zentrum für fremdsprachliche und berufsfeldorientierte Kompetenzen (ZfbK). This course cannot be compensated by other JLU teachings.

Application and Advanced courses: Here you can deepen your knowledge. Choose courses from the 5 competency fields that together amount to 2 CP. You can select the courses freely according to your interests and needs. All courses accepted for the supplementary certificate can be found in the Application and Advanced courses tab . Note that many courses yield only a fraction of a CP (e.g., 0.25 CP).

Reflection [Mandatory]: After completing the foundation section and accumulating enough CP from the application and advanced courses, you finalize your supplementary certificate with a reflection. With this step you analyze and evaluate your personal learning experience. The reflection must also be carried out at the ZfbK.

: Registration for the Supplementary Certificate

When you decide to register for the Supplementary Certificate, simply send an E-Mail to the certificate coordination . You will then be added to a Stud.IP group, where all necessary information and materials are available. Registration is required so that you can receive the Supplementary Certificate after completing all courses.

Information: Later registration is also possible if you have already taken courses from DigiKomp+ or if they are creditable for DigiKomp+ . A list of past courses can be found here .

If you believe a course you attended fits into our offering, you can always ask the certificate coordination whether the course can be credited toward the supplementary certificate. Just send an email with the course plan or a list of the covered topics.

Take a look at the website and decide whether you want to enroll in the Supplementary Certificate.
If you have decided to enroll, send an email to the certificate coordination , who will add you to the Stud.IP group where you can find all the important information and documents.
Complete the Fundamentals Section, if you have not already done so.
Enroll in Applied and Advanced Courses and/or write to the certificate coordination regarding the recognition of courses you have already taken. While and after taking the courses, fill out the reflections for each course.
Once you have accumulated enough CP, send an email with a list of all courses and the proof confirming successful completion of the courses. At the same time, you can finish your final portfolio and upload it to the appropriate folder in the Stud.IP group.
You will be invited to a concluding conversation, if there are no objections to the courses you have taken and once your portfolio has been reviewed.
After this concluding conversation, you can submit an application for the issuance of the Supplementary Certificate.
You will be contacted when your document is ready.
