GEWISOLA 2024: "Innovative concepts for a sustainable agricultural and food economy"
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Nutritional Sciences, and Environmental Management, in cooperation with the newly founded Center for Sustainable Food Systems (ZNE) at JLU Giessen, and Hochschule Geisenheim University invite for participation and paper submission.
Contributions can be submitted under the following topics:

Development, investigation and testing of innovative concepts for the agricultural and food economy

Dissemination of innovations in the agricultural and food industry
-
Innovative imparting of competence and educational concepts for a sustainable agricultural and food industry
-
Innovative research methods for a sustainable agricultural and food industry
Both theoretical-conceptual and empirical contributions from agricultural and food economics and sociology as well as neighbouring disciplines with recognisable links to the above-mentioned research areas are welcome.

- Instructions and templates for submission of contributions
Proposals for poster contributions should present the problem, the method and the results of a research work on a maximum of 2 pages in German or English. Submitted proposals will be evaluated by two reviewers with regard to their suitability for the conference. The templates for formatting can be found below. Proposals must be submitted as a PDF file via ConfTool by 13th May 2024.

Posters should be made in A0 size in portrait format. Please ensure the legibility of all content.
Accepted posters are to be prepared according to the instructions for posters provided on the conference homepage. They will be presented by the authors in poster sessions during the conference. Accepted and presented poster contributions will appear in the conference proceedings with a summary of a maximum of two pages.
The submitted written contributions must be completely elaborated, may not exceed 12 pages (incl. literature, excl. title page) and can be written in German or English. The guidelines for formatting as well as format templates can be found here. Manuscripts are to be submitted as PDF files via ConfTool by 11th March 2024 (deadline was extended). For multi-authored paper submissions, the intended speaker must be named.

For your presentation, please use a landscape format and also make sure your presentation is readable.
The evaluation will be performed anonymously by two reviewers. The following criteria will be used for the evaluation: Relevance of the topic, originality of the contribution, appropriateness of the methodological approach and comprehensibility of the presentation. Positively evaluated contributions will be presented in thematic working groups at the annual conference and, if necessary, published in the conferenceproceedings after the reviewers' comments have been incorporated.
Awards:
The best evaluated contributions are awarded the
Gewisola Prize
for Best Papers and can be published in the German Journal of Agricultural Economics after an accelerated review process if they meet the criteria.
Likewise, the best presentations and posters will be awarded the Gewisola Prize for Best Presentations and Posters.

There is an opportunity to organize pre-conference activities on the morning of September 25, 2024. These can be workshops, meetings or discussion groups on topics of your choice. Proposals with details on content, structure, speakers and participants can be submitted on max. 2 pages in German or English as a PDF file via ConfTool or informally via e-mail ( gewisola2024 ) until Monday, February 12, 2024 . The organizing committee and the board of GEWISOLA will decide on the selection of the submitted proposals.
In the self-organized working groups, current issues in the economic and social sciences of agriculture are to be discussed with representatives from politics, industry and society. The time frame is 90 minutes. Proposals for such working groups should explain the topic and describe the format on a maximum of 4 pages in German or English: Concept, time structure, contributions and speakers or discussants. Proposals should be submitted as a PDF file via ConfTool or informally by e-mail ( gewisola2024 ) by Monday, February 12, 2024. The organizing committee and the board of GEWISOLA will decide on the selection of the submitted proposals.
