Analysis and utilization of the genetic basis of primarily protein plants with complex genomes such as rapeseed and field bean Regulation of gene expression of stress-induced genes as well as the influence of structural variation and its influence on yield stability	Identification of hereditary components that are associated with yield and yield stability under different stress scenarios and can be used accordingly for breeding purposes Identification of specific or universal protective factors and strategies against different stressors and different impact scenarios that stabilize the yield of crops under these conditions Finding the basis of the (epi-) genetic variation underlying the specific or universal protective factors and understanding how the variation arises or is generated	Collaboration in modern breeding research to stabilize yields under abiotic stress conditions Characterization of drought tolerance in specific crops Cooperative flowering regulation studies in Brassica napus
