ZNE at the event series ‘Es geht um die Wurst (It's all about the sausage) - approaching the controversial topic of meat consumption’

Prof Ramona Teuber gave a lecture on the topic ‘Algae, insects & lab meat. What will we eat in the future?’ as part of the series of events organized by the Catholic Academy in Freiburg. The event series ‘It's all about the sausage - approaching the controversial topic of meat consumption’ was organized by the Catholic Academy of Freiburg to present and discuss the topic from various interdisciplinary perspectives.

The lecture discusses current and future challenges of food security against the background of planetary boundaries as well as possible future paths. How can our food system be made more sustainable? The results presented from food system and consumer research provide answers to the question of whether algae, insects and lab-grown meat can become meat alternatives in the future and sustainably reduce meat consumption in the long term.

The recording of the lecture is available on YouTube.
