The course of studies will be revised for the winter semester 2022/23 and will probably be adjusted as follows
Composition of the Study Programme
The degree programme is composed of 20 modules:
- 8 core (compulsory) modules with a scope of 6 credit points each.
- 8 profile (elective) modules, each with a total of 6 credit points
- a written Master's thesis with a total of 24 credit points.
Half of the course modules are compulsory (core modules), the other half of the course modules can be chosen from the entire range of courses offered by the department (profile modules).
The recognition of modules from other departments or universities is possible.
Individual specialisation is achieved by choosing the profile modules . The degree programme is successfully completed when all modules have been passed.

- Special biochemistry
- Special human nutrition
- Applied Nutritional Medicine
- Practical course in nutrition physiology
- Nutrition and Metabolism
- Pathophysiology and Nutritional Medicine
- Food Technology and Molecular Cuisine
- Food Science
By choosing certain specialisation modules, the following specialisations shown in the Master's degree certificate can be acquired:
- Nutritional Medicine
- Food Science
Internship (Optional)
Module MP 196 "Professional Internship" can be chosen as a profile module in all Master's degree programmes of Department 09 (corresponds to 12 CPs). This gives students the opportunity to gain practical experience and establish contacts in potential professional fields.
Thesis
In the Master's thesis, students demonstrate that they can work independently on a concrete, delimited topic within a limited period of time.
