International Courses of Study

Study Programmes at JLU
Bachelor's Degree Programmes
Bachelor's degree programmes at JLU have a standard duration of three years and lead to a first university degree qualifying graduates for professional employment.
Master's Degree Programmes
A Master's degree programme builds on a completed Bachelor's degree. It takes two years and leads to a second university qualification.
Teaching Degree Programmes
JLU offers teacher training programmes for all school types. In Hesse, these programmes conclude with the First State Examination. This is followed by a practical training phase, which concludes with the Second State Examination.
State Examination Degree Programmes
Besides teacher training, a number of other programmes at JLU also conclude with a State Examination: Law, Human Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, and Dentistry.
Doctoral Studies
A doctorate demonstrates the ability to conduct independent scholarly research at an advanced level. Upon completion, graduates are awarded the academic title of Doctor (Dr) in their chosen discipline.
