General information

Part of the programme - for the 12th time!

At JLU, the first scholarships were awarded for the winter semester 2011/2012. In the first scholarship award process eight regional sponsors provided support for 23 scholarship holders from all JLU faculties. In the winter semester 2023/24, 84 students received a Deutschlandstipendium.

Financial support of 300 euros per month – irrespective of (parental) income and BAföG grants

Gifted and high-achieving students at universities in Germany receive a financial and non-material scholarship of 300 euros per month. Modelled after the public-private partnership, half of the scholarship is donated by private sponsors (individuals e.g. alumni, businesses or foundations), the other half is provided by the German Federal Government.

Seeking talented, high-achieving and socially committed students

At JLU, the Deutschlandstipendium is always awarded for the winter semester. Intended beneficiaries are students who are already studying at JLU and new students who are about to embark on a study programme at JLU.

Scholarship recipients are selected based on their talent and achievements. In addition to their academic achievement and their personal record of accomplishment to date, however, social commitment and particular personal circumstances are also taken into account in the selection process.

Further information can be found in the FAQ section.

Applications will be possible again in summer 2024.
