Even in the university context, it is necessary to deal with legal issues relating to AI. These NIDIT workshops offer practical insights and solutions for lecturers and researchers in order to organise the use of AI responsibly. The following workshops offer the opportunity to exchange ideas with experienced speakers on various topics. The information does not constitute legal advice, but will give you more security in your daily work and an overview of current developments in this area.

• The NIDIT Lunch Bag Session (Rechtliche Herausforderungen von KI in der Hochschullehre) (German) with Alexander Besner-Lettenbauer will take place on 15 May 2024 and will deal with the legal challenges of AI in university teaching. Find out why the use of AI raises numerous legal questions and how you can act in compliance with data protection regulations.
• Another workshop is planned for 28 May 2024 on the topic of "Urheberrecht aus Lehrendenperspektive – welche (neuen) Regeln muss ich in der Hochschullehre beachten?" (German) with Jens O. Brelle, who will deal with copyright law from a lecturer's perspective and present new rules in university teaching. Find out which copyright regulations are relevant in the context of university teaching and what opportunities and risks arise from the use of AI tools. You can submit your own case studies in advance, which will then be discussed during the event.
• On 9 July 2024, Jens O. Brelle will be offering another workshop focusing on "Datenschutz im Hochschulkontext" (German). This workshop will focus on sensitising teachers to data protection and legal aspects in the education sector, including consent in the context of image and personal rights as well as name and trademark law issues.
