Goals

In order to achieve the goal of developing lecturer competences in the digital and international area, a comprehensive professional development programme is being created, which will be served by the work of a total of three tasks at NIDIT. The first two tasks are #1 Digital Teaching Literacy and #2 International Teaching Training. These basic offers are complemented by complex and forward-looking techniques such as augmented and virtual reality from the #4 Lab for Innovative Teaching. Here, too, further training offers are developed and offered to the lecturers. A sustainable quality assurance of the teaching offers is ensured through the constantly conducted #3 Impact Analysis. This involves evaluating not only the recently designed continuing education programmes, but also existing programmes at the three universities. At the same time, the developed learning and teaching materials, experience reports and tutorials are secured and published for the network partners and beyond through #5 Good Practice and Web Transfer.

The focus of task #1 is on teaching digital skills in higher education didactics. This is to be achieved by providing corresponding innovative and proven offers. The aim is to prepare lecturers for the path to an increasingly digitally supported study landscape.

Task #2 aims at developing the qualification of lecturers, researchers and student assistants in digital and international teaching processes. Its primary task is twofold. Firstly, it organizes training sessions and events for those involved in teaching and learning environments. Secondly, it supports teachers of internal and external partner universities in Germany and around the world interested to enhance their teaching practices.

The systematic and continuous assurance of project results and quality of results through broad-based qualitative and quantitative impact and effectiveness analysis and the associated sustainable contribution to high-quality digitised and international teaching offers at higher education institutions form the core of task #3.

The aim of task #4 is to support lecturers in the development of innovative teaching and learning scenarios with, for example, virtual reality, augmented reality and hybrid teaching. In the Labs for Innovative Teaching, both inexperienced and experienced teachers will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge and skills and also to work on their own projects.

In task #5, the focus is on securing and expanding already created e-learning materials and on creating further barrier-free digital teaching and learning materials, tutorials and explainer videos. All e-learning materials will be freely available as OER on our learning platform and offer a contribution to consolidating and deepening the media and digital competence of lecturers.
