New Impulses for (Medical) Higher Education

On February 5, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, the online lecture “Gamification in Medical Education: Innovation Through Playful Approaches” with Dr. Daniel Tolks will take place. The event is aimed at educators and students from all disciplines and explores how the use of game elements such as points, badges, or narrative structures can enhance learners’ intrinsic motivation.

Based on theoretical models such as the Self-Determination Theory, the lecture will present innovative didactic strategies that can promote engagement and learning success. In addition to an overview of the current state of research, practical examples of implementing gamification in medical education will be shared. The opportunities and challenges of this approach will also be discussed.
