Teaching in Transition: New Impulses, New Formats

Under the theme "Teaching Futures – Partners in Progress," the Teaching and Learning Day took place on May 22 and 23, 2025. In an open and inspiring atmosphere, over 200 participants gathered to exchange ideas on innovative approaches in studying and teaching—both on-site in the university's main building and digitally. The interdisciplinary exchange, new event formats, and practical insights provided diverse impulses and lively discussions.

The first day of the event focused particularly on the role of Future Skills, participation, and digital technologies in higher education. In addition to a keynote by PD Dr. Malte Persike, impulse lectures on student co-creation, artificial intelligence, and immersive learning environments were offered. The subsequent practice forum with a showroom, fishbowl discussion, and AI thematic tables invited active participation and networking. On the second day, the international perspective came into focus. In an English-language online event, participants discussed COILs (Collaborative Online International Learning), language-specific teaching formats, and global educational cooperation. The gather.town platform was used for the first time as a virtual environment for thematic tables and a poster gallery.

With its broad program and successful mix of lectures, discussions, and digital meeting spaces, the Teaching and Learning Day 2025 offered numerous impulses for future-oriented and collaboratively designed higher education. Heartfelt thanks go to the organizing team, the speakers, the facility management, and all participants, as well as for the opportunity to be guests in the university's main building.
