JLU president visits Monash University 2019
JLU President Prof. Mukherjee travelling to Australia
Prof. Joybrato Mukherjee and Julia Volz, Head of the JLU International Office visited Monash to meet Monash Vice-Provost Ian Smith and other university and faculty leaders to enhance the collaboration between both institutions.
On this occasion Prof. Mukherjee also met Kate Loveland to award her the extension of her Liebig professorship.

Kate Loveland awarded second extension of JLU Liebig Professorship
Reapproval of Kate Loveland's outstanding contribution to the Monash-JLU relationship
On the occasion of his short visit at Monash University JLU president Prof. Joybrato Mukherjee conveyed the new certificate to Prof. Kate Loveland.
With the award that reminds of the most famous researcher and eponym of the university, Justus Liebig, JLU wants to honour renowned scientists for their outstanding achievements and to intensify international scientific relationship.

Raouda in "down under"
PhD student of project 4 in Melbourne
Raouda, PhD student under supervision of Thorsten Diemer, Adrian Pilatz and Daniela Fietz has gone to Melbourne. Hosted by Peter Stanton and Liza O'Donnell she will be carrying out research on her project "Proteomics and male infertility: seminal lasma and blood biomarkers as predictors of successful sperm retrieval"

Kate Loveland receives the Fuller W. Blazer SSR International Scientist Award
The Fuller W. Bazer SSR International Scientist Award recognises an outstanding international scientist who has consistently demonstrated excellence in research and graduate education at an institution outside of North America and who demonstrates outstanding potential for leading and directing scientific research overseas.
The award will be conferred to Kate at the SSR 2018 Annual Meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, US.

ASRI Travel Grand Award for ASRI-CSI Annual Meeting, June 28 - July 01 2018 in Shanghai (CN)
Congratulations to Siv and Dana (both IRTG project 2) who receive that travel grant to attend the ASRI-CSI Annual Meeting and to present their papers.
Siv's being entitled "Delineating the testicular leukocyte population in the adult mouse"
Dana's being entitled "The testicular germ cell tumor line (TCam-2) drives M0 and M1 macrophages (THP-1derived monocytes) into the immunosuppressive M2 phenotype"
This is a fantastic achievement for IRTG with students taking home two of the 10 travel grants that were issued. Great job, ladies!

Zlatko Skrbis visits Giessen to receive highest JLU recognition
Monash Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Zlatko Skrbis is awarded with the Liebig Medal for his outstanding contribution to the institutional partnership between Monash Universtity and JLU. In the presence of Dr. Lauren Bain deputy ambassadress of Australia he receives the award by Prof. Dr. Mukherjee president of the JLU.
