Hadrons, EFTs, Lattice QCD

The overarching focus of the research group lies in hadron spectroscopy. Specifically, we are aiming to extract universal properties of hadrons -- short-lived excitations of strongly interacting matter such as protons, pions etc.. Those comprise a unique signature of our world and in the same time are crucial input for understanding various observations.
The main methodology can be viewed as a "tridge" (three-sided bridge) uniting exiting and developing new tools from:
(1) Theoretical methods based on symmetries of the strong interaction interaction. For example Effective Field Theories such as Chiral Perturbation Theory.
(2) Phenomenology oriented applications from S-Matrix theory;
(3) Results of numerical ab-initio calculations of Lattice QCD. In particular mostly focusing on quark mass dependence (e.g. Chiral Trajectories) and Finite-Volume effects.
