International Summer Course (HSK)
- International Summer Course (HSK)
The ideal launching-pad for entry into courses of study at JLU Giessen.
The International Summer Course is held in September immediately before the start of the Winter Semester (2017: August 31 - September 29), and offers 4 weeks (100 hours) of instruction in the German language, with a focus on basic grammar, cultural background, text production and communicative skills.
The special character of the International Summer Course resides in its programme of individual mentoring. Not only does this approach help you to get acquainted with the University, but it also introduces you to the city of Giessen and everyday life in Giessen as well as its environs. The International Summer Course also runs excursions to diverse places all over Germany as well as interactive workshops. At the end of the Summer Course, participants receive a certificate detailing the number of ECTS points (4) obtained.
The course fee is currently € 630. Doctoral students, visiting researchers and teachers as well as free movers who stay at least one semester at JLU only pay € 530. If you are an exchange student on an ERASMUS or other programme with a partner institution of JLU Giessen you pay a reduced fee of only € 430.
