Katharina B. Hacker ist Doktorandin und Stipendiatin des International Graduate Centre for the Study of Culture (GCSC). In ihrem Promotionsprojekt beschäftigt sie sich mit den Veränderungen der kulturellen und (trans-)kollektiven Gedächtnisstrukturen und -inhalte des Genozids an Ovaherero und Nama angesichts der offiziellen Anerkennung durch die Bundesrepublik Deutschland im Jahr 2021. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte umfassen kollektives Erinnern und Gedächtnis, Genozid, Kolonialismus und Dekolonisation aus soziologischer kultur- und kollektivwissenschaftlicher Perspektive sowie Methoden der empirischen Sozialforschung. An der Universität Regensburg absolvierte sie ihren Bachelor der Politikwissenschaft und Germanistik wie auch ihren Master der Kriminologie und Gewaltforschung. Zudem ist sie Mitglied des Editorial-Teams des Open Access Magazines on_culture.
