JLU in the Excellence Strategy
Great success in the Excellence Strategy: three approved clusters – TAM, POLiS, and CPI – provide sustainable support for cutting-edge research.

Working together towards Excellence
Justus Liebig University Giessen and Marburg University are applying for designation as an “University of Excellence” with their joint proposal, H_CORE – Hessian Collaboration for Research Excellence. Building on a strong Central Hessian alliance, the two universities – both highly successful in the first round of the Excellence Strategy and together securing four clusters of excellence – aim to further strengthen research excellence, talent development and knowledge transfer. The proposal builds on the long-standing collaboration within the Research Campus of Central Hesse which brings together the two universities and the University of Applied Sciences Central Hesse, the latter involved as an associate partner. The University Hospital Giessen-Marburg and four non-university research institutions also contribute to the initiative.
