Overview
Sustainable food economics deals primarily with economic issues of the food industry and food trade, i.e. with companies that deal with the production and distribution of food and luxury foods. The food chain is examined from the procurement of raw materials to the delivery of the finished products to the consumer. Processes, decisions and consequences of food production on markets and in processing companies of the food industry are considered. Teaching and research is conducted in the areas of:
- Business studies in the food industry
- Market analysis and marketing in food markets
- National and international agricultural policy
- World food economy
