Art and Experience“ with Alva Noë

We invite advanced students and PhD candidates to apply for the 2nd Friend-Summer-Seminar. This year, the seminar will be held by Alva Noë (University of California, Berkeley). It will cover a wide array of interconnected issues from Noë’s latest books “Strange Tools” and “Varieties of Presence”, as well as some of his recent work. Therefore, the seminar will range over the topics of perception and consciousness, art and philosophy, and the entanglement of nature and culture.

According to Noë, we face a crisis in the human sciences, but we don't quite understand what it is. During the seminar, Noë will work with the participants to bring this into focus.

On the evening of the 27th, Noë will give a talk which is open to the public.
