Additional Workshops and Events

Additional Workshop and Events

While fostering connections with respected experts from the field, we assist our doctoral students in evaluating their career and life goals (and their compatibility) and in developing essential personal strategies for attaining them. Both the Graduate Centre and JLU offer a variety of programmes each semester, including coaching, mentoring, workshops, lecture series, excursions, and seminars.

The offerings are structured by the following topics:

  • Career planning – make a concerted effort to reflect on factors relevant to your career and develop a clear, long-term strategy at an early stage!
  • Key competencies – assemble a toolkit of communicative, social, and technical abilities and skills of relevance to your career!
  • Career orientation – consult former students and field experts about potential academic and non-academic career choices and prospects!
  • Job search – train for that initial entry into the professional world (whether through an application process or on your way to self-employment)!

In addition, you can also take advantage of the numerous language and media competency courses that JLU administers. JLU also offers students the opportunity to acquire certificates in certain areas outside of their own specialties.

Are you an international student, doctoral candidate or graduate? Here you will find information about your career orientation and career entry in English!

++ Key: C = Coaching or Consultation, E = Event, S = Seminar or Block Seminar, T = Talk or Lecture, W = Workshop ++
