Forschungsprojekte:
Design and evaluation of DNA-Barcoding high throughput methods for analyzing diatom diversity: a test case along a south-north gradient in Central Europe (Rivers Lusatian Neisse/Oder) (DFG, with Justus-Liebig-University Giessen, University Cologne and IGB Berlin). The river system Lusatian Neisse/Oder is mostly situated in the Polish German border region. In this study area we develop a competitive molecular tool to evaluate the benthic diatom diversity with next generation sequencing techniques. In the long term it should replace the evaluation via light microscope as implemented in the European Water Frame Work.
