Academic Qualifications
Annika Beckert studied biology at the Goethe-University of Frankfurt and received her diploma for the work "Prevalence of pathogens in tick population (Ixodidae) in the Rhine-Main districts Gießen, Wetterau, Hochtaunus and Frankfurt." Since 2011 she is a PhD student and conducting research on the topic "Several unconventional c-type and i-type lysozymes of the invasive lady beetle Harmonia axyridis". She is working on the heterologous production and characterization of different lysozyme types to identify their role in insects.
